Description: Sheriff?s Officer Rybka was shot with his own gun while guarding an inmate being treated at a hospital. The inmate asked Officer Rybka to loosen his restraints so he could use the restroom. When Officer Rybka did, the inmate used his own IV stand to beat Officer Rybka into submission. He then grabbed Officer Rybka?s service weapon and pistol-whipped him with it over and over again. While Officer Rybka was lying on the floor, the inmate shot him 3 times. Officer Rybka?s assailant was convicted of murder and sentenced to life plus 25 years.
