Description: Deputy Ruiz and fellow members of the Travis County SWAT Team were serving a warrant for narcotics possession. While attempting to gain entry into the residence, the suspect opened fire on the officers. Deputy Ruiz was shot fatally when one of the bullets penetrated his vest. He was flown to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
