Description: Officer Roy was killed instantly when a motorist made an illegal left turn in front of his cruiser. Officer Roy swerved and struck loose gravel. The cruiser skidded, spun three times and was struck broadside by another car. His partner, Officer L.I. Bass, suffered fractured ribs and internal injuries but survived the crash. The motorist was charged with negligent homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.
