Description: Deputy Russ was the first officer to respond to a disturbance call where a suspect was threatening to kill his wife. As he attempted to place the suspect under arrest, the suspect stabbed Deputy Russ with a large knife. After stabbing Deputy Russ, the suspect then stabbed his wife to death. Deputy Russ shot and killed the suspect before he succumbed to his injuries.
