Description: Deputy Roark was shot by a crazed gunman, who would later kill two other officers, Cooper County Sheriff Charles Smith and Miller County Deputy Sandra Wilson. The gunman also killed Mrs. Pam Jones, the wife of the Sheriff of Moniteau County, Kenny Jones. Moniteau County Deputy Russell Borts was injured. The suspect was sentenced to death and died by lethal injection on January 8, 2002.
