Description: Sergeant Ramier was killed when a pine tree that had been struck by lighting fell on his patrol car. Sergeant Ramier and his partner were in the funeral procession for Deputy Hilery Mayo, Jr., when a violent thunderstorm knocked down several trees. Sergeant Ramier was killed instantly when the tree struck his police unit. His partner, Deputy Mary Mayo, received serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
