Description: Sergeant Ricard was attacked by an inmate while supervising food preparation in the kitchen at the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility. An inmate obtained a kitchen knife while preparing breakfast for the facility. The inmate then lured Sergeant Ricard into a secluded area in the kitchen and stabbed her once fatally in the neck. A second officer was also stabbed by the inmate but survived. The inmate was transferred to a high security prison.
