Description: Patricia Ross was beaten to death with an industrial size can opener by an inmate in the dining room at the Kentucky State Penitentiary. Patricia Ross, who was a Food Service Instructor, had refused the advances made by the inmate. Another inmate who had attempted to assist her was also beaten severely. The perpetrator was sentenced to death which was later reduced to life in prison.
