Description: Deputy Rein was shot with his own gun while transporting a prisoner to court. The suspect was serving two life sentences for armed robbery and facing additional charges that day in court. While en route, the suspect overpowered Deputy Rein, took his weapon and shot him multiple times before throwing his body out of the prison van. Deputy Rein was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
