Description: Chief Reitz and Sheriff Newkirk and several deputies were called to a citizen's home where he feared for his life. The citizen was a non-striking worker and was being threatened by striking workers outside his home. When officers arrived striking workers shot Sheriff Newkirk in the head, and Chief Reitz was shot through the heart.
