Description: Patrolman Reed was shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance call. Patrolman Reed arrived at the scene of a domestic disturbance call as the suspect was departing the residence with a rifle slung over his shoulder. Patrolman Reed gave verbal commands for the suspect to drop his weapon. Gunfire ensued and both Patrolman Reed and the suspect were struck. Patrolman Reed was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. The suspect fled the scene and was apprehended six hours later by state police.
