Description: Correction Officer 1 Ribeiro collapsed after responding to a fight between inmates at the MCI-Shirley Correctional Facility. Officer Ribeiro ran to the scene and physically intervened to stop the fight. As Officer Ribeiro collapsed as he escorted one of the inmates back to his cell. Officer Ribeiro was transported to a local hospital where he died of a heart attack.
