Description: Sergeant Romero, was killed in a helicopter crash during a joint drug interdiction mission. The helicopter snagged on a power line and exploded into a hillside in western Imperial County. Also killed in this incident were Deputy Roy A. Chester, Deputy James McSweeney, Deputy Mark Steven Tonkin, Investigator Michael David Davis and three National Guardsmen.
