Description: Patrolman Rodgers was reporting for duty when he was struck by a train. Patrolman Rodgers had stepped back to avoid being struck by the incoming train but was struck by the outgoing train. Patrolman Rodgers died at the scene of multiple injuries. There was no other regular crossing in the area so he had no other way to cross the tracks. The Coroner's inquest concluded that his death was accidental.
