Description: Deputy Sheriff Rice was shot and killed while searching for a murder suspect. As deputies attempted to apprehend the suspect, the suspect opened fire and shot Deputy Rice. Deputy Rice was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. The suspect was shot and wounded by law enforcement officers and taken into custody.
