Description: Officer Roach and Lieutenant Brooks were called to a tavern to apprehend two drunk and disorderly men. Neither man offered any resistance until they reached the police station. One suspect, William Gorman became argumentative, produced a revolver and fired point blank at Officer Roach's chest. Officer Roach died two days later. William Gorman had previously served as an officer with the Newark, Ohio P.D.
