Description: Patrolman Richards responded to a back up call for another officer to assist with a traffic violator who was attempting to flee. Patrolman Richards and his fellow officers cornered the suspect and attempted to handcuff him. A struggle ensued and Patrolman Richards was knocked to the ground during the fight. Patrolman Richards collapsed soon after and was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead of a heart attack.
