Description: On December 22, 1893, Special Agent Ransom was on patrol in the Union Pacific rail yard when he observed a burglary in progress of one of the box cars. Agent Ransom attempted to arrest the burglar and a struggled ensued. Agent Ransom fell and struck his head on the railroad tie. Agent Ransom was transported to the hospital where he remained until his death a month later on January 29, 1894.
