Description: Posseman Reeves was shot when he and Deputy Marshal J.G. Reeves attempted to serve a writ to a suspect in Somerville, TN. As the lawmen questioned a suspect, the man became belligerent, pulled a pistol and fired. Posseman Reeves was shot and died at the scene. Deputy Reeves returned fire and wounded the suspect, who was placed under arrest.
