Description: Patrolman Ritter and Patrolman Coates were questioning a suspect for selling cigarettes without a license. While questioning the suspect on his front porch, the porch collapsed sending the officers and the suspect off the second story porch. Patrolman Ritter had a inter-cranial hemorrhage and died the next morning. Patrolman Coates sustained several broken vertebrae but is expected to recover from his injuries.
