Description: Officer Rivera died as a result of injuries he sustained when he fell 20 feet from a rooftop while pursuing a burglary suspect. Officer Rivera and his partner responded to a report of a burglar alarm. When the officers arrived the suspect fled. Officer Rivera lost his footing and fell from a rooftop while pursuing the suspect. He was transported to a local hospital where he remained for eight weeks before he suffered a massive seizure and died.
