Description: Officer Schoffstall was riding to work along with Deputy Mike McKissick when they came upon a one-vehicle accident blocking the passing lane on the Wabash River Bridge. Deputy McKissick radioed the dispatcher and advised them that he and Officer Schoffstall were investigating the accident scene. While conducting the investigation, Officer Schoffstall fell over the railing to the concrete pavement below, approximately 33'3". Road conditions were icy and it was snowing at the time of this accident. Officer Schoffstall was pronounced dead at the scene.
