Description: Correctional Officer Sanderson was killed in an automobile accident during a mock escape drill staged by the Corrections Department at the Reception and Medical Center. At the same time as the drill, a suspect, himself another correctional officer, was fleeing the scene of a stabbing he had just committed when he struck Officer Sanderson's department van on the highway near the Reception and Medical Center. Both the suspect and Officer Sanderson died in the crash.
