Description: Deputy Sheriff Streicher was shot and killed while attempting to serve a misdemeanor warrant to a suspect for failure to appear in court. The suspect stole Deputy Streicher’s patrol unit and service weapon and then killed two of his neighbors. The suspect was apprehended after an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement officers. The suspect was convicted of murder in 2003 and sentenced to death. The suspect committed suicide in 2008 while on death row.
