Description: Officer Strickland and Corporal James Crump were shot and killed while booking an 18-year-old suspect for operating a stolen vehicle. While booking the suspect, he grabbed one of the officers' service weapons and opened fire. Officer Strickland and Corporal Crump were shot fatally, as well as Dispatcher Leslie Mealer. After stealing a department Crown Victoria and fleeing the scene, the suspect was apprehended by Lowndes County, Mississippi, Police Officers.
