Description: Deputy Marshal Seaman, while seated in the patrol motorcycle sidecar, was struck by an on-coming automobile. Both Deputy Seaman and Marshal J.W. Smith crashed into a ditch. Deputy Seaman was transported to the hospital with a fractured skull and died five days later. Marshal Smith survived his injuries. The motorist was not apprehended.
