Description: Officer Simpson and his partner Officer Cole saw a vehicle that reports identified as belonging to a suspect involved in a shooting spree that caused the death of three people. The Officers were confronted by the armed suspect and they ordered him to drop the weapon. The suspect fired on both lawmen, striking Officer Simpson in the stomach. Officer Cole returned fire, seriously wounding the suspect. Officer Simpson was transported to the hospital where he died.
