Description: Deputy Sullivan attempted to arrest a suspect when the man pulled a concealed weapon from his boot and fatally shot the Deputy. The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to hang. When the public heard that the case may be in danger of being overturned, they overpowered the jailer and lynched the suspect.
