Description: Sergeant Shumante was killed in an automobile accident while returning to the departments training facility. Sergeant Shumate had just completed delivering materials to the departments Wynne Unit and was on her way back to the training facility when a dump truck suddenly stopped and made a left turn in front of her. Sergeant Shumate struck the back of the dump truck. She died instantly.
