Description: Police Officer Speed was one of the first victims of a sniper who opened fire from the observation deck of the Main Building on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. Officer Speed was having lunch nearby when he heard shots fired and responded to the scene. The sniper killed a total of 16 people and wounded over 30 others before he was killed by responding officers.
