Description: Police Officer Strickland was ambushed and shot after breaking up a fight between two men. One of the men went home, retrieved a .38 pistol and went in search of Officer Strickland. Officer Strickland was on patrol when the man approached and shot him twice in the head. Officer Strickland died at the scene. The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
