Description: Patrolman Schoppe was shot as he entered a saloon to arrest a suspect who had shot at a woman. Patrolman Schoppe was heading home when he heard gunfire in a local saloon. As Patrolman Schoppe entered, he was shot in the chest. Despite his fatal wound, Patrolman Schoppe charged the shooter and tackled him before he collapsed and died.
