Description: Patrolman Stevens was on patrol when he heard a pistol shot. He went to investigate and found a man armed with a pistol. Officer Stevens ordered the man to drop the weapon and informed him he was under arrest. The suspect responded by firing two shots at Officer Stevens which struck him in the head and chest. Officer Stevens returned fire fatally wounding his assailant. Officer Stevens was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
