Description: Deputy Marshal Stuart was shot and killed while transporting a prisoner arrested for moonshining near Chattanooga, Tennessee. Marshal Stuart and his two brothers had arrested the suspect for moonshining and were transporting him when they were ambushed by a posse. The prisoner was freed by the posse and Marshal Stuart and his brother died in the incident.
