Description: Patrolman Shack was shot and killed by a fellow officer in a case of mistaken identity. Patrolman Fawley was also on night patrol in the same area as Patrolman Shack. Patrolman Fawley thought he had seen a prowler behind one of the local drug stores and fired his weapon. Patrolman Shack was shot fatally in the chest as he checked the back door of the drug store. He died as Patrolman Fawley attempted to carry him to a local doctor.
