Description: Chief Stanton responded to a disturbance call from a local drug store. Chief Stanton took a handgun from suspect who was causing a disturbance and brought him back to the station. Once at station, suspect produced second weapon and shot Chief Stanton once in the head. Suspect escaped on horseback but was caught a few hours later. Chief Stanton died the next day at hospital.
