Description: Deputy Sheriff Shipe was shot as he attempted to serve a warrant to a robbery suspect. As Deputy Shipe read the warrant, the suspect pulled a gun and shot Deputy Shipe in the chest, killing him. The suspect was convicted of murder and executed by hanging.
