Description: Officer Solorio, a member of the Targeted Response Unit, was the passenger in the department?s vehicle when his partner attempted to stop a speeding motorist. While in pursuit, during icy road conditions, the squad car was cut off by another speeding vehicle and forced into a concrete wall. Officer Solorio was paralyzed from the waist down and succumbed to his injuries three weeks later.
