Description: Correctional Officer Scott died when he was feloniously struck by the prison transport bus. A subsequent investigation revealed that four inmates, who were not passengers on the returning trip, had cut the front and rear hydraulic brake hoses. As the driver attempted to safely maneuver the sabotaged bus, he swerved to avoid an embankment which caused the bus to roll over. Officer Scott was thrown through the front door and then struck by the bus. The officers were transporting a group of youth offenders on work detail back to the Youth Correctional Institute in Hardwick. Four inmates plead guilty and were issued longer prison sentences.
