Description: Deputy Smith was fatally shot when he and Sheriff John Lindman responded to a domestic disturbance call. Deputy Smith was able to return fire, wounding his assailant. The suspect also tried to shoot Sheriff Lindman but the gun jammed. The suspect then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.
