Description: On May 15, 1937, Patrolman Scott was directing traffic when he stepped back to avoid a vehicle that was traveling towards him. The driver of the car swerved left at the same time Patrolman Scott stepped back and accidentally struck him. Officer Scott suffered a fractured leg and was rushed to the hospital where he remained until his death three weeks later of a pulmonary embolism.
