Description: Merchant Policeman Samp was shot as he attempted to arrest two men suspected of auto theft. Officer Samp was transported to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead. His assailant was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. The second suspect was acquitted.
