Description: Deputy Stillwell was transporting a hobo he had arrested for vagrancy to the county jail when the man broke free of his rope restraints and drew a concealed weapon. Deputy Stillwell was shot twice and died two weeks later. The suspect was caught, tried in a court of law and received a term of life imprisonment.
