Description: Lieutenant Smith was pursuing a murder on foot when the suspect turned and shot him in the chest. With a bullet in his heart, Lieutenant Smith was still able to fire his weapon striking the suspect six times. Lieutenant Smith was the second police officer to be killed in the line of duty from his department.
