Description: Sheriff Singleton died in an automobile crash as he and Undersheriff Lyle Sale were en route to pick up a prisoner. Undersheriff Sale was driving the department vehicle when they were struck head-on by an oncoming car that was illegally passing another car. Sheriff Singleton died at the scene. Undersheriff Sale sustained multiple injuries but survived. The other driver was also killed.
