Description: Chief of Police Samuels was shot as he and fellow officers conducted a raid of a blind tiger in search of whiskey. Chief Samuels died at the scene. Ed Jeffcoat, a member of the posse, was also shot but survived. The suspect was killed in an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement officers.
