Description: Sergeant Sherrill and three other officers were attempting to serve a warrant charging the resident with incest, and several other charges which involved juveniles. Prior to the officers arrival, the suspect had been reported covering his home with plastic and acting in a suspicious state. When the officers entered into the home the suspect charged at them and a scuffle erupted. The suspect was able to take one of the officers service revolver and shot Sergeant Sherrill in the chest. She was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital.
