Description: Sheriff Stewart died as a result of injuries sustained in a car crash ten days earlier. Sheriff Stewart was on routine patrol when he attempted to cross an intersection and collided with a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. An off-duty deputy was driving the other vehicle involved in the crash and provided medical attention. Sheriff Stewart was airlifted to a hospital where he remained until his death.
