Description: Officer Stedman was at his usual post guiding traffic when two street cars turning at the intersection struck and crushed him. Because of ice that had been on one of the tracks, the back end of the first street car failed to turn and instead went straight into Officer Stedman's chest, and jammed him against the other car. Officer Stedman died en route to the hospital.
