Description: Deputy Slater was killed in an automobile accident while en route to back-up a fellow officer who was pursuing a stolen vehicle. While attempting to negotiate a curve, Deputy Slater's patrol car crashed into a utility pole and flipped over four times. Deputy Slater was flown to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
